Castle Hill Special School Fund - Registered charity number: 1008336

​Castle Hill Special School Fund (CHSSF) is a registered charity that exists to support the Castle Hill School by raising funds for specialist items and experience to enhance the lives of students and their families. 

CHSSF submits funding applications to other charities, trusts and foundations such as the National Lottery, Sport England and One Community.

Our Charitable Aim: To raise funds for Castle Hill School in order to enhance the provision for students with severe and profound learning difficulties.

​Funding activity during 2022-2023

This has been a quiet year in terms of funding applications. Project funding from the previous year for ReWorks was largely spent this financial year, this funding was awarded in the previous year.

Funds have also been used to purchase to pay to the following:

  • Sensory equipment
  • Music activity for students provided by Jessie’s Fund project
  • Items for the newly established nature area in the playground
  • Photography session to collect images for the school website.

The following grant was awarded during this financial year:

  • One Community – Community Grant Programme £954.60

The funding from the Community Grant Programme was sought to replace the existing sofas in the Chill Den that had become worn and unsafe.  Two sofas were bought along with floor and sofa cushions.

  • Donation - £7910.94

A number of small donations were received by the charity during the year.  Additional, more substantial donations were made by Mr D Levy (£1000) J Havis (£1000) and Lions Club (£1400).
